Josh Brewster
Writer, Host of "Duck Calls" Anaheim Ducks Postgame Radio Show
and Hockeytalk Web Radio

Josh Brewster founded the Western Hockey Network in 2000, producing all-hockey radio programming as well as print media, covering the world's greatest game from Southern California.

Brewster is the host of "Duck Calls," the Anaheim Ducks' postgame radio show after road games on AM830 (KLAA) in SoCal. Josh is also the producer of the groundbreaking web radio series, "Hockeytalk Audio Features," available for listening at www.hockeytalk.biz. He also appears regularly on XM Satellite Radio. On November 3, 2007, he filled in as color commentator on the Ducks' radio broadcast from Phoenix, calling the game with Steve Carroll.

Josh's first hockey program on CRN Digital Talk, 'Power Play' aired from 2003-04. Brewster also appeared on WNSA FM in Buffalo as an NHL commentator from 2002-04.

His hockey writing has been featured in The Hockey News and Hockey Digest. A 20-plus year veteran radio and voiceover personality, Josh has been heard narrating television series for Animal Planet and USA Network, as well as countlesss radio and TV commercials across America.

He lives with his wife, Catherine, and his sons, Brent and Shane, in Los Angeles.

Gann Matsuda is a Los Angeles native who grew up playing roller hockey in the local schoolyard and has been following the Los Angeles Kings since 1973. His days covering the Kings began in the mid-80's when he wrote game stories and news and notes pieces on various online services (GEnie, National Videotex Network and eWorld), before moving to e-mail lists and the World Wide Web. He has been the news editor for the Online Kingdom since 1995, and has also covered professional hockey players of Japanese descent for the Rafu Shimpo (Los Angeles Japanese Daily News) since 2001. Matsuda is also the publisher of the popular Kings blog, Frozen Royalty and in February 2009, he became a member of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

Dennis Bernstein is Chairman of SCORE! Media, one of the fastest growing sports and entertainment media properties in the country. His work is routinely found on the pages of national men's magazines, on the radio and featured on major websites.

Dennis has appeared as an NHL analyst for ESPN Radio nationally as well as hosting two of his self produced shows, the SCORE! Hockey Show, which aired on what is now ESPN Radio 1050 in New York and Hockey Night in America on the Cable Radio Network. His columns for IntheCrease.com launched his hockey writing career.

Dennis expanded the SCORE! brand to the field of representation in 2005. Shortly thereafter, Bernstein engaged and secured representation deals with Showtime's Al Bernstein and the North American Boxing Council. Dennis holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Rider (NJ) University, a Master's Degree in Finance from Fordham University in New York City and is a member of the Professional Hockey Writers Association, the Los Angeles Press Club, the Association of Corporate Growth, Los Angeles Venture Association and the Turnaround Management Association. He is single and resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Graig Woodburn covers the NHL for the Press-Enterprise in Riverside, California while also contributing to ESPN.com and The Sporting News hockey yearbook. He is originally from Massachusetts and began covering pro hockey in the Washington D.C. area in the early 1980's. Woodburn is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and admitted to practice in California and Massachusetts.  Greg is a regular guest on Duck Calls and is a member of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

Ivo Jaschick
Writer: European Correspondent.  Ivo has written the longest-running Hockeytalk column, Eye on Europe, since 2004.  Ivo also writes for Eishockey magazine.  He lives in Germany, where he was born and bred.

Jason Reed currently covers the NHL for Hockeytalk, also contributing a regular column, J.R.’s Rink Rants, to Hockeytalk.biz. Jason is also a frequent guest on Duck Calls.

As a freelance writer and broadcaster Jason has written extensively for more than 30 newspapers and magazines across the US, Canada and Europe. He is currently the LA Kings blogger for THN.com, the website of The Hockey News.

Leon Rafner is a postgame reporter for Hockeytalk and contributes audio to this site.  He has also appeared on Duck Calls.  An ESPN Stats Reporter, Leon has worked as a stringer for other wire services including Sports Ticker  and Sports Network, covering the Ducks. A lifelong hockey fan and player, Mr. Rafner grew up a Ranger fan and has followed the Ducks from the start of the franchise in '93, through the first playoff victories over Phoenix, and finally to the Cup. 

Karen Francis covers the Anaheim Ducks for Hockeytalk and also blogs at MVN.com. Karen is married with three sons. She is a diehard hockey fan and hockey card collector. She has also appeared on Duck Calls.

 

 

Charles E. Smith, Jr.  Over 15 years of broadcasting experience (1993 - Present). Produced and hosted Southern California TV Sports talkshow Inside Sports, also wrote a  weekly sports column for the San Gabriel Valley Examiner as well as serving as television broadcast analyst for Long Beach Ice Dogs of the ECHL from 2003-2006.
