ANAHEIM DUCKS ANNOUNCE CAP ON SEASON TICKET SALES

The Club Begins a Waiting List for Season Tickets After Reaching the 15,000 Seat Plateau

AUGUST 29, 2007 -- ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the club has capped season ticket sales at 15,000 and started a waiting list for all future orders. The club is capping such sales in order to provide fans the opportunity to purchase single-game seats on Saturday, Sept. 15 for the 2007-08 home schedule.

“Our community has enthusiastically responded to our success over the last two years, and we thank them for their tremendous support,” said Anaheim Ducks Executive VP/COO and Anaheim Arena Management President/CEO Tim Ryan. “As we’ve stated for the last two seasons, one of our primary objectives is to continue expanding the growth of hockey in Southern California. With that in mind, we have decided to cap season seat sales in order to be able to continue to give fans the opportunity to watch our sport in person.”

The defending Stanley Cup champions enter the season having sold out 34 games consecutively, including the last 22 regular season contests. The team sold out 25 regular season games last year, the most since the 1997-98 campaign. The club’s average attendance (16,377) and percent capacity (95.4%) were also the highest since the 1997-98 season.

At the time of Henry and Susan Samueli’s purchase of the Ducks in June of 2005, the club had 7,000 season tickets sold. The Ducks began the 2005-06 campaign with 9,500 season seats, a figure that grew to over 11,000 at the start of the 2006-07 season. A waiting list to purchase one of Honda Center’s 84 sold-out suites began in the summer of 2006. Club seat sales at the arena have also reached record levels.

ANAHEIM DUCKS SIGN HEAD COACH RANDY CARLYLE TO ONE-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed head coach Randy Carlyle to a one-year contract extension. He is now under contract with the Ducks through the end of the 2008-09 season.

“Randy has been the perfect fit for this organization with his hard-working, aggressive style,” said Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Burke. “He has been a major factor in the success we’ve had the past two seasons.”

Carlyle, 51 (4/19/56), was named the seventh head coach in team history on August 1, 2005. In only his second season as an NHL head coach, Carlyle led the Ducks to their first ever Stanley Cup Championship. En route to their Stanley Cup title, the Ducks defeated Minnesota (five games), Vancouver (five games), Detroit (six games) and Ottawa (five games). The Ducks became the first California team to win hockey’s ultimate prize.

In the 2006-07 regular season, Carlyle led the Ducks to their first Pacific Division Championship, compiling a regular season record of 48-20-14 for 110 points. The club set new franchise records in most major statistical categories, including wins, standings points and goals (254); eclipsing marks the team set in 2005-06.

In his first year as a head coach in the NHL (2005-2006), Carlyle led the Ducks to playoff series wins vs. Calgary (seven games) and Colorado (four games), before the club fell in the Conference Finals to Edmonton (five games). Anaheim’s playoff run followed the best regular season performance in team history, when the club set then team records in wins (43), points (98) and goals scored (251). In 164 games as an NHL head coach, Carlyle has a 91-47-26 record (.634 winning percentage).
