Chicago welcomed back Patrick Kane, who opened the scoring at 4:40 of the first period after missing game three with the flu.

Game 3: CGY 4 CHI 2

Chicago came back from a 2-0 deficit to overpower the Flames and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.  Jonathan Toews scored twice to cement the victory.  Patrick Sharp converted a Patrick Kane feed midway through the second period to tie the score.  Both goaltenders were sharp, with Nik Khabibulin and Mikka Kiprusoff each stopping 30 shots.

Game 1: CHI 3 CGY 2 (OT)

Chicago's Martin Havlat scored the game-tying goal at 14:27 of the third period and won the game in overtime for the Blackhawks with the game-winner just 12 seconds into overtime.

Controversy erupted after Havlat's OT winner as Chicago's Andrew Ladd appeared to interfere with Calgary goaltender Mikka Kiprusoff in the crease as the puck crossed the goal line.  The officials concluded that Flame defenseman Jordan Leopold's contact with Ladd played a role.

"(Interfering with Kiprusoff) is part of their game plan," said Calgary coach Mike Keenan.  "It's a good plan, if you get away with it, and so far they have." -- JB
