This season, Hockeytalk presents three
different columnists’ takes on the first round of the NHL playoffs: Leon
Rafner, Josh Brewster and Dennis Bernstein. Stats compiled by Jason
Reed. (Back to Playoff Main Page)
1. BOSTON BRUINS VS. 8. MONTREAL CANADIENS BOS WINS 4-0
Quote of the Week: RESULTS: Game 4: BOS 4 MTL 1 BOS: Ryder, M. (17:27 in 1st), Krejci, D.
(19:25 in 1st), Kessel, P. (11:58 in 2nd), Ryder, M. (12:43 in 2nd) Michael Ryder, with four goals and seven points, tied Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin for the playoff scoring lead. Ryder, a healthy scratch with the Canadiens last season, helped the Bruins bury his former club in an impressive sweep. On a related note, B's coach Claude Julien also enjoyed a victory over his former club as well. Montreal goaltender Carey Price heard numerous boos and derisive cheers from the crowd. In the second period, he raised his hands to the crowd in response to their catcalls. GM Bob Gainey supported his young netminder, noting that if Price doesn't stand up for himself when "bullied," who will? One has to wonder how long Price will last under the intense media and fan spotlight in Montreal. -- JB Take a look at who Hockeytalk picked as "potential series turner" in our preview of this series...none other than Michael Ryder! Game 3: BOS 4 MTL 2 BOS: Kessel, P. (18:35 in 1st), Thornton,
S. (03:36 in 2nd), Ryder, M. (17:21 in 2nd), Kobasew, C. (EN, 19:23 in
